The Improbable Task - by Shavonne Coleman

I know chasin the impossible takes a lot of courage and if your black or brown in this country the bar is very low. Obtaining my basic rights sometimes takes so much energy and effort having to overthrow. Nothing for me or you is truly impossible but these structures we standing on make it improbable--it's not math but I know folx that was last in they class that could outthink and outdo my hypothetical leaders at any task. I've decided today I'm not here for room at the table cuz that table is built upon a foundation we've found to be unstable--for the marginalized no, we're the global majority beat down by governmental authority so if I believe it's impossible well then my drive is lost. I can't fight then my success, joy, and growth inconceivable but I have to remind myself it's all attainable. Fuck the stairs and the elevator your glass ceiling, key codes, only "certain folk" can pass those. I'm here to dismantle those while you pushing me to the throes eventually hardships I'ma transform em to stepping stones leading me to my throne--can't nobody take my crown. I know chasin the impossible takes a lot of courage…
