The Irony of Life

By Neli Abrahamyan, Yerevan, Armenia

When this pandemic came to our region, I was in Georgia on a project. At first, not only me but a lot of people thought, “This is not that serious,” and me and my friends were even joking about it.

But day by day, I started to realize that the situation is getting worse and if everyone thought the way I thought, it would result a chaos.

It’s already been three months. I am at home and getting out only when I really have to.

These days have not been easy for me or my family. I lost my grandpa during these times, not because of COVID-19, but during it, and this has been mentally challenging for me.

If someone a year ago had told me this scenario, I would not have believed that life can change totally in such a short period.

Anyhow, now I am trying to spend my time as usefully as possible. I started learning new languages, I’m read the books that were on my to do list, watching movies. Though it seems that we are getting used to this, I do really hope that it will soon pass.
